Jackson loved Wellington Cable Car

Having used the cable car to get to up to uni for many years I am always amazed by the looks of wonder that children get as they ride to the top of Kelburn on this antique. There is something about the experience that kids love and once they get to the top the museum and the botanic gardens await.

Melanie loved Zealandia: The Karori Sanctuary Experience
I absolutely love Zealandia and always take friends and family here when they're visiting Wellington. Am looking forward to attending a good friend's wedding here next year too!
Hayden loved Mt Kaukau

Mt Kaukau is the highest point around Wellington and on a good day you can easily see the south island and sometimes as far north as Mt Taranaki. It is a reasonable climb up through Khandallah Park (40 minutes or so) but the views are well worth the walk.

Joe loved Harbourside Market Wellington

Now called the harbourside markets, go check it for all your fresh produce needs, with a fresh fish stall most weekends offering up good deals on some really good products. Great location and in the middle of an awesome market, go down and check it out every Sunday on the waterfront.

Te Papa Tongarewa - Museum Of New Zealand, Wellington

I mean, this wouldn’t be a Wellington list without Te Papa….Whether you’ve been living in the city for years, or if you’re just passing through, it's never not worth a visit, really. Highly educational I’m sure.

Madeline loved Fidel's Cafe
There is a reason this is Wellington's most iconic cafe -you can not beat it! Sundays in Wellington are not complete without a lazy brunch at Fidel's. It is a bustling cafe with outdoor space to accommodate the typical, Wellingtonian smokers. A hipster's haven, the cuban cafe is made up of flamboyant decor and speedy waiters. The food is to not be missed, along with the fresh juices, though it really is the snicker milkshake the locals rave about!
Sara loved Wellington Botanic Gardens
So much to keep the kids entertained, a walk among the flowers an adventure in nature, spotting a bird or two.
Luzie loved Island Bay Beach
Island Bay beach on a good day, is simply stunning. The view, and the sandy beach make it the perfect spot for a Kiwi picnic or BBQ (byo BBQ). Dip your toes in the water, or relax and enjoy the sunset!
Sara loved Wellington Waterfront

Beautiful place to stop and eat, watch the boats, shop at market store, variety of delish foods
