
Dogs Day: Your beloved pooch will have a blast playing with puppy friends all day!
It's definitely the month of love in Auckland this February, and this weekend in the city is guaranteed to melt hearts. Celebrate the freedom to love who we please at the Pride parade this Saturday, catch the ultimate love story of Romeo and Juliet at the glorious Pop Up Globe, or feel the love on the dance floor at the legendary, life-changing Splore festival. Love your best friend at the Fun Dog event, and love the clean slate of a bonus new year (plus monkeys!) in Parnell. We got the love, Auckland, let's get out there and spread it.
1) Romeo and Juliet at The Pop Up Globe
The Pop-up Globe Theatre Company present Shakespeare’s immortal tragedy Romeo & Juliet, at Pop-up Globe Auckland's full-scale working temporary replica of the second Globe Theatre originally built by Shakespeare and his company in 1614. Performed by a cast of professional actors brought together into a new, specially-formed ensemble repertory company and working with world experts to bring you the authentic shock of the old: the effect of Shakespeare’s plays performed in the space for which they were written. 2) Splore at Tapapakanga Regional Park

3) Auckland Pride Parade on Ponsonby Road
Now in its 4th year, the Auckland Pride Festival continues to show the world all the beautiful colours of the rainbow community. The parade is the highlight of the Auckland Pride Festival and a spectacular showcase for the Rainbow Community. It will be kicking off at a new time of 6pm, the parade takes place in the middle of a "Pride Day" with activities happening before the advance of the parade and a free gathering after the parade for all participants! 4) Fun Dog Events at Western Reserve
4Dogsake are holding Fun Dog Events for all the family. On Saturday there'll be market stalls, live music, raffles, delicious food amd coffee and giveaways! Grab your mates, family and dog and head out for a fun day, all proceeds from the event will go to animals in need. For more info, head here.
5) Parnell Monkey Exhibition
A monkey ‘sanctuary’ will be set up along Parnell road and other Parnell locations in February as a celebration of Chinese new year to honour the Chinese community in Auckland. A unique and exciting exhibition will showcase 30 life-sized monkey artpieces over the two weeks, which will then be auctioned for charity. For more info, head here.
