Excellent fush'n'chups! Plus a great selection of wet fish
The fish and chips here are great - particularly the fish, which is not surprising since it's as fresh as can be. Batter is really light & crispy, and they'll crumb the fish for a dollar extra. However, the best part of the shop is the fresh fish store. I love to look at trays and trays of snapper, kawhai, gurnard etc, and there's a great selection here. Lots of frozen delicacies too, plus a tank of crayfish. Everything you need for a seafood supper!

Fish Fish has the best fish! Lovely and fresh and really competitively priced - even compared to supermarket prices. If you're thinking of cooking at home you can get supplies here - or if you're feeling lazy you can stay and enjoy some fresh fish prepared with love.

I am always dubious about buying seafood from somewhere new but when Farro say their food is fresh, they really mean it. Good prices and great food. We picked up some fantastic snapper for dinner and it was really amazingly fresh and tasty.

When fish is on the menu in our house there is only one place to go: the Auckland Fish Market. As well as an incredible array of fresh seafood they have a great food market packed with all sorts of treats and inspiring cooking ingredients, and if you can’t wait to get home they even sell perfectly prepared hot fish and chips to eat in or takeaway. And it’s close to Wynyard Quarter - a bonus for coffee lovers and little ones alike.
Best Fresh Seafood
For fresh seafood and fish I go to Victoria Park New World. Not only are they the best supermarket in the city, their fish section is always abundant and fresh with a great selection and very good prices. I often buy the terakihi or gurnard, these being a more sustainable choice, but they always have great Marlborough salmon - and often a special on the tails which I prefer as they have no bones to extract.
