Kokako Cafe & Roastery, Grey Lynn
Best coffee in Auckland. Organic and roasted in Grey Lynn. Nat's pick gives it the Gold. Plus organic vegetarian food. Never imagined vegetarian could taste so good.
Victoria loved Sprout
Sprout! We recently moved from Grey Lynn to Mount Albert and this cafe saved me! Amazing coffee, lovely staff, great service, excellent menu, kids play area, the list goes on and I haven't even mentioned the market on Saturdays. LOVE!
Olivia loved Remedy Coffee
Shelves after shelves of books, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and the exquisite music are just some of the things that makes Remedy Coffee unique. Situated at the heart of Auckland CBD, you’ll find this cafe tucked in the corner of the streets of Queen and Wellesley, just right in front of Civic Centre. If you’re looking for good coffee and a cozy place to kill time, you are more than free to enjoy their free wifi, books, and board games. Yes that’s right, board games - or what people used to play with before Internet happened.
Also: Introverts will love the place for its open window indoor seating, which makes for a great spot for people-watching.
James loved Hello Friends + Allies
Coffee... WOW. so good. Great to have real deal cool vibe cafe in my hood.
Kylie loved Goodness Gracious
I’m such a big fan of Goodness Gracious’ signature blend of espresso that I’ll travel across town to pick up a brew from this awesome uptown bagel spot. The brew is full of depth but with a smooth, clean finish. I love the fact that local owner Greg is so committed to serving up the best coffee in Auckland that he’s taken the time to create a Goodness Gracious blend.
Joanna loved Amano Bakery
Amano Bakery fits into the hustle and bustle of Auckland City perfectly. A vast selection of pastries, sandwiches, porridge, friands, tarts, savoury buns and a little something called breakfast slices are all displayed on a beautiful counter top, and are all ready to be toasted, wrapped, packed and sent with you on your way. This bakery is nestled tightly into Tyler Street and is a whole lot more than just a hollow in the wall for a quick coffee dash. There is a beautiful, very winter fitting 'breakfast station', boasting many a porridge, with both traditional and a creative flavors. The bread choice is clearing inspired by a number of continents as is the selection of pastries. I recommend the honey sesame seed friand and a buffalo milk coffee. I dont recommend their green smoothie, broccoli, kale, silver beet and malabar spinach. Wonderful wee spot, crowded with both people and all the best things bakery.
Caffetteria Allpress, Auckland
When I want to ‘take five’ a seriously strong dose of Allpress at it’s home base of Caffetteria Allpress is where it’s at. If it’s breakfast time, I highly recommend smashing a blueberry smoothie and at lunch one of their chicken and fennel ciabatta sandwiches. Oh yeah!!!
Krystal loved Humbug Cafe
Humbug is my local go to cafe! I love everything about this place, the food, the staff and the atmosphere are all top notch. I took my Mum her on Sunday and she was blown away with the french toast and latte bowl she ordered. I love their smoked salmon bagels - declious!
Kylie loved Good Day
I love Good Day in winter for its beautiful soups. Rich, delicious and homemade, the soups at this Orakei cafe are the perfect antidote to a winter's day. They also do a mean brew of Supreme coffee and are locals after my own heart, believing that it's important to "start with a coffee" every day.
Madeline loved Espresso Workshop
The staff here made my trip! They are happy to be there and absolutely love coffee. The vibe of the whole cafe is chill but there's some hustle and bustle for you to watch as you sip away at your perfectly made coffee. The cabinet food looks fresh and drool-worthy! I suggest you try the cold brew and tonic for something different in the summer!
